“Remember, we all stumble, every one of us. That's why it's a comfort to go hand in hand.”
~ Emily Kimbrough
You are not alone if you:
• Wish life were more, better, or different
• Lose hope or meaning in yourself or your relationships
• Worry you lack the strength to deal with life’s challenges
• Struggle to find your motivation and confidence
• Feel paralyzed to move through your traumatic past
• Feel unaccepted or victimized by other people’s judgment
• Wonder if you are unlovable or unable to love
• Act based on fear, resentment or anger
A trusted counselor is your personal guide through life’s challenges. Counseling works through a process of discovering some simple truths: (a) your inner wisdom is a great source for the answers you seek; (b) accessing this wisdom is a teachable skill you can learn; (c) understanding your strengths allows you to accept or change what you can control most… yourself!
My therapeutic approach is based on your individual needs. This means incorporating your unique values, faith, and community into the therapy process. As we journey together in an environment of safety and acceptance, you will develop new possibilities and learn effective methods for tackling life’s biggest challenges.
If you have questions about the counseling process or would like to ensure we are a good fit, call me to schedule a free phone consultation. It would be an honor to take this journey with you.
• Licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon.
• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Portland State University.
• Member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
I help people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds work through a broad range of challenges. My specialties include but are not limited to the following:
Medical Issues: If you or a loved one is facing a serious new medical diagnosis, you probably feel overwhelmed by emotion and uncertainty. Having worked with doctors, nurses, and treatment providers as a medical social worker, I have helped patients and their families navigate the confusing world of medicine while remaining a source of emotional support through this process.
Young and New Couples: Young or new couples face a unique set of challenges. Perhaps they are new parents or have children from a previous marriage, or maybe they are simply trying to negotiate their new family roles. I am honored to have fostered healthy beginnings for many couples.
Young Adults: Many career oriented young adults are facing a “quarter life crisis.” Maybe you’ve just graduated from college and are feeling the pressure to succeed. Or maybe success isn’t all you thought it would be. I have the privilege of helping young adults find new meaning in life, develop or achieve new goals, or discover they are exactly where they should be.
